This fascinating tour cruises by the amazing homes known as “cottages” (homes of 20 rooms or more) of the rich and famous who were Aiken’s Winter Colonists. Some of those homes are where families like the Astor's, Vanderbilt's, and Whitney's called "home" during the winter.
Our fee covers a driving tour that highlights two plantation homes in Aiken; admission to Redcliffe Plantation, home of James Henry Hammond a congressman, governor and senator of SC; and convenient round-trip transportation from downtown Aiken to the plantation, and back to a downtown Aiken location. We recommend comfortable footwear.
